Friend of the People - An interview with Anwar Carrots

Carrots?  Like the vegetable? Yeah!  That was my first reaction years ago when I first saw our friend Nick Beeba rocking a purple top and bottom sweatsuit that said "Carrots".  It was a collab with the designer Mark McNairy.  Over the years, I started to see the Carrots brand more and more.  The more I saw, the more I liked it, and the more I learned about the brand's founder Anwar the more interested I became in what he was up to.

Carrots release new projects and products at a breakneck speed, with partners ranging from Foot Locker to The Smokers Club to Freddie Gibbs to Crocs, all the way to Nordstrom.  The brand is genuine and fun, and all about community.  This brand personality makes sense after I interacted with Anwar.  Genuine, and fun is how I would explain him as well.  A family man, with a very unique skill set to create exciting culture.

Over the past months, we have worked together to build a collection that is unique to the Carrots brand, using the materials of Arvin Goods.  Anwar and the team have been an absolute pleasure to work with, and we couldn't be more proud of the products we are presenting.

As we do with all of our collaborator's I sent some hard-hitting questions 😂 to dig in a little deeper.  We hope you learn a little bit more about Mr. Anwar Carrots in our interview below.

Where did you grow up, and what led to you living in LA?

Born In Trenton NJ. Raised in Orlando FL, USVI St. Thomas and LA. What led me to LA was my pops seeing a future for me in acting and modeling and shit stemming from me going union from being an extra in a Carnival Cruiseline Commercial in the VI lol. Thanks, Dad

Honestly, the turning leaf of P&C led to me doing Carrots™️. Launched with Toyota Scion Retail Gallery Pop-up space. 30 days, good collaborations based on the relationships I have with real people that do dope shit.

Who or what are your biggest influences/Inspirations?  

My wife, my kids, my homies, my mom, Nigo, and Martha Stewart, Drake, and Future lol
